This is the second web in three days for this savvy spider. The first one was good, but was draped between two geraniums – it was mostly catching the wind, but it did finally catch a nice fat moth. That savvy spider must have sussed that a much better position would be really near the light, so the new web is twice as big, most cleverly engineered being suspended from the eaves and gutter and the corner of the house – more sheltered from wind damage, but still catching a light breeze. That first moth must have been pretty good to eat for this spider put in so much effort to build such a fantastic new web – I’m expecting to see a feast of fat moths in the morning – maybe the family is coming over for lunch?!
